Hi, I’m Ken Baldauf. I’m an educator, author, innovator, facilitator, and musician.
I am an optimist in the age of “accelerating change,” a time when optimism is being sorely tested. I am a humanist, technologist, futurist, and banjoist. I believe in the inherent strength, beauty, and goodness of the human spirit. I believe in the power of human reason and the potential for progress through scientific inquiry and social action.
I am the founding director of the Innovation Hub at Florida State University and teach Design Thinking and Systems Thinking to inspire creative problem-solving in young adults. I have authored several textbooks on computing, technology, information systems, and design thinking.
I nurture innovation in businesses and organizations through Innovation by Design LLC. I have worked to inspire my community to invent the future through the nonprofit Moonshot Florida. I worked to nurture creative confidence in children through the nonprofit The Sharing Tree.
I have been an active musician in Tallahassee since 1988 performing in Cypress Creek Band for many years and presently in the Kenny Hill Band. I make an effort to live a minimalist lifestyle with a focus on quality over quantity. I enjoy vintage BMW motorcycles and practice yoga and meditation in order to keep my balance.
